Nutella Chocolate Mug Cake
Let’s face it, we all need a little dessert in our lives. I have a huge sweet tooth which can take over my taste buds and before I know it I’m devouring a whole cake. Portion control has always been an issue for me and I am not the type of person that can be satisfied with eating “diet food” just so I can eat more. I need REAL food in my life, I’ve noticed if I give into a craving I tend to eat less.
I came across a Chocolate Cake recipe from fellow blogger, Kirbie’s Cravings that caught my attention right away. I’ve heard of microwave cakes before but this was made with Nutella! My love for Nutella runs deep and I will eat anything if Nutella is on it! The list was simple and it cooks in the microwave in under 2 minutes. How could I go wrong??
Well, all I have to say is thank goodness this is a single serving because this is lethal! The cake is moist (gooey at the bottom!), chocolatey and is put together in the mug- NO CLEANUP! If you need a chocolate fix give this a try, you won’t be disappointed!
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 4 tablespoons white granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 2 1/2 tablespoons Nutella
- 3 tablespoons milk
- splash of vanilla extract
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
Whisk all ingredients in a large coffee mug till smooth. Microwave on high for 1.5 – 3 mins. Mine was done at 1.5, make sure to keep an eye on it if it overcooks the outcome will be rubbery and not gooey!

Go ahead, add the whip cream on top, I won’t tell ; )

This sounded so good and the picture looks delicious. I love the idea that it is single serve…but sad to say that I made it today and was not a fan. Thanks for sharing though!
OMG! This sounds amazing, I have to try it.
